Room to Grow
A timeless + girly bathroom overhaul
Remodels are always fulfilling projects to work on, particularly when our starting point is so vastly different than the style the client is wanting to achieve! Our starting point for this project was a mix of early nineties + vintage finishes—a combination that led to a dark and overstimulating room. For the new homeowners, their wishlist for this project was a pretty but functional bathroom to grow with their young daughter.
Staying true to our clients’ classic tastes, we started our design by adding timeless tongue + groove wainscoting. For the shower overhaul, we removed the old shower + tub combo insert, and replaced it with a large tub insert plus a fun scalloped picket tile that we carried to the ceiling. One of our favorite details is the pearlescent penny tile we added to the large shower niche for a girly touch.
We had a lot of fun with the finishes in this bathroom. Drawing inspiration from our scalloped tile, we continued that theme with our choices for the gilded mirror and new sconce lighting. Additional touches of glam were added through hardware choices, especially the crystal doorknobs we added to the new closet doors.
The finished look for this remodel received the stamp of approval from our clients’ daughter, so we can call this project a huge success!
